I was introduced to poker by my dad. I remember being 12 and figuring out his Poker Stars password. When he came home and his 30$'s was gone he gave me a good beating. I of course denied that it was me and explained how someone must of stole his money... he didn't buy it. A week later I got into his money again. This time I won 40 dollars and he still beat me.... except it was with a little more love.

Until about a year ago I was a losing player. I would often think that I was just losing because of bad luck and everyone else was a luck box. The truth is I sucked and was playing SNGs incorrectly. I guarantee 90% of you who are reading this blog play SNGs incorrectly. When I finally realized "hey I have a lot to learn" I registered for Poker VT. It was through Poker VT that I met SNG World Record Holder Nick Rainey.

Nick has taught me everything I know. I can say with 100% confidence that he is the reason that I am able to crush the tables every day. He gained nothing from helping me outside of an occasional laugh at how horribly I played a hand. I can not thank him enough for his kindness and the motivation he has provided me.

Next week starts the beginning of a new dedication to poker for myself. The goal is to put in 500 games at the 12$ and 24$ 90man KOs on FTP and make $4,000. I'll keep you posted throughout the week on my progress.

Time to Live for the Future

With this blog I hope to do two things:

1. Track my goals
2. Provide a decent read for Poker Players, Fans, and Pros.

Within my next few blogs I will go over my future goals, plans, and how I got my start in poker.

My life has been interesting to say the least. I was raised by my father. who is the hardest working man I know. I will never be half the man he is. I can't thank him enough for the life he provided me on his own. We may not have been the richest or happiest family, but he did the best with what he had.

I'm a 20 year old father of three kids. my first of which was born when I was only 15 years old. I am married to the mother of my three children and we've been together for 6 1/2 years and married for 2 1/2. I graduated high school to go on to Wittenberg University for a few months, before I dropped out.

For the last half a year I have been playing poker professionally, or for a living depending on your definition of a professional poker player. I have not put in the time and effort that I should be putting in. No question about it, If I had a boss I would be fired for my work ethic. I've been getting bye making anywhere from $400-$1000/week when I could be easily making $3000-$6000/week with the right dedication.

The reason for my lack of dedication is due to a couple of reasons. The main reason being laziness. I am also a gamer; whether it be console, pc, or other card games. These games have been distracting me from what I should be accomplishing at this point in my life. I haven't "made it" in the poker world yet and until I do this should be my main focus.

I have always tried to live my life for today. What will make me happiest right now? It is today that I will start living my life for the future.

Thanks for reading and I've provided my results for the past few months below.
